Carpentry Bits and Bobs

The following is a few of the odd carpentry jobs I have been asked to complete. These jobs I enjoy the most as they require planning, and always require improvisation. The challenge is the joy of it.
This first one was a Children's Play Room with nowhere to put the toys away once playing had finished. The Customer wanted 3 x matching IKEA Shelving Units to look like one complete unit. However, the location was awkward due to the radiator, and the alarm box above it, on the right. I had to cut the central unit to fit the centre point and once built and fixed to the wall, I caulked and sealed with architrave where required, primed and then painted in the chosen colour.

Here we had 2 x Chimney Alcoves which were wasted space due to a lack of shelving/storage. The Customer bought an IKEA Unit (bottom left) which I fitted in line with the Blanket Box I built on the right. I boxed them both in with architrave, and then built 3 x Box Shelves each side. The wood was then filled/caulked , primed and painted, in the chosen colour.

Here was a small Utility Area that had been newly built on the side of a property. The Customer wanted an industrial/chunky style shelving and seating for the Belfast Sink, which I also mounted and fitted with all plumbing. I also made and fitted the copper towel rail to match the bespoke purchased taps. I then tiled the backsplash, tongue and grooved the walls, and finished with beading.

This Customer wanted to store boxes etc in the understairs space. Previously it was just an empty area and looked cluttered. I fitted a batten framework, panelled, and built 2 x hinged doors with magnetic catches. The square access simply pulls off the magnetic catches to allow access to the narrowing end of the space. The job was finished with matching chrome door knobs from trusty Screwfix..

A simple request - box shelving in a children's play area. Problem was the property was early 18th Century so very few plumb lines to work with. The walls are also lath and plaster so securing with strength is a challenge. Mission accomplished.

Simple boxing-in job in an older property - "Hide the fusebox, please!" Frame built, and hinged doors with magnetic catches for access added.
